On July 12, 2024, the National Association of Computing Students (NACOS) at Yaba College of Education hosted an electrifying Careers in Tech Industry event that left a lasting impression on over 600 eager students.

The event featured a distinguished line-up of speakers, each bringing their unique insights from various areas of technology.

Among them were Godwin Udu of Kucheza Gaming, a passionate advocate for the design and gaming industry; Odina Ozioma of Xolani Health, a product and UX designer; and Sadeeq Hayeende, a Lead Digital Analyst from Lifestores Healthcare.

Each speaker delivered eye-opening sessions on different aspects of tech careers, leaving students inspired and eager to explore the vast opportunities within the tech world.

The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as students from various computer science disciplines gathered to gain first-hand knowledge from industry experts.

While all the sessions were insightful, two in particular stood out and captured the audience’s full attention: “Careers in the Gaming Industry” by Godwin Udu and “Building a Career in Data Analysis” by Sadeeq Hayeende.

With a blend of enthusiasm and expertise, Godwin Udu delved into the dynamic world of gaming, highlighting the myriad of career paths available. From game design and development to art, audio, and production, he painted a vivid picture of the industry’s potential.

His talk was not just informative but also motivational, encouraging students to pursue their passions and consider gaming as a viable and rewarding career choice.

Godwin’s engaging storytelling and real-world examples resonated deeply with the attendees. He shared his own journey, the challenges he faced, and the triumphs he celebrated, making his talk relatable and inspiring.
