With the deal, Paratus will now immediately be able to supply its customers with fixed, mobility, and maritime services.

Paratus Group has struck a deal to distribute Starlink’s high-speed services throughout Africa, in a partnership that will allow it to supply Starlink to its clients in selected markets across the Continent.

Starlink will initially be provided by Paratus in Mozambique, Kenya, Rwanda, and Nigeria, before being expanded to other countries.

Using low-earth orbit satellites, Starlink provides high-speed broadband Internet across the globe, and provides an alternative to mobile telecoms or fixed-line solutions, especially in underserved areas.

Starlink currently supports tens of thousands of company sites and clients in a variety of capacities, including primary enterprise connection, 4G and VSAT replacement, backup, interim setup, and emergency services.

Paratus will now immediately be able to supply its customers with fixed, mobility, and maritime services.

Martin Cox, Group chief commercial officer, Paratus, says: “We can offer industry sectors – such as land and offshore energy, mining, hospitality, education, healthcare, agriculture and more – the reliable and constant connectivity they need to flourish, no matter how remote they are.

“The Starlink agreement further strengthens our LEO (low-earth orbit) satellite services offering across Africa and affirms our capability and reach on the continent.

“It reinforces our goal to collaborate with entities that share our vision of transforming both African businesses and communities.”
