The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has reaffirmed that the integrity of its operations, particularly in human resource management, remains non-negotiable.
Emphasising its role as a national aviation institution built on trust and professionalism, FAAN assures its workforce, partners, and the Nigerian public that every administrative action it takes is anchored on transparency and the rule of law.
The Authority notes that its recruitment, postings, and career progression processes follow clearly defined statutory guidelines that prioritize competence, fairness, and institutional efficiency. These frameworks are deliberately designed to prevent arbitrariness and to uphold a merit-driven system across all levels of the organization.
FAAN reiterates that it will continue to strengthen these structures, safeguard due process, and promote an environment where every qualified staff member has a fair and equal opportunity to grow.
In line with this commitment, the Managing Director has recently authorized a further internal review of certain employment-related concerns that have come to management’s attention.
This review, according to Henry Agbebire, FAAN’s Director, public affairs and consumer protection, is aimed at strengthening clarity, ensuring uniform application of policies, and reinforcing confidence in the systems that govern staff progression. It will also enable management to address any gaps and improve existing structures where necessary.
“FAAN reiterates that no employee is compelled to alter or suppress their qualifications at any point in our recruitment process. All engagement procedures are based on the advertised positions, their requirements at the time, and the voluntary submissions of applicants.
“Where subsequent policy adjustments or reviews are required, FAAN ensures such matters are handled responsibly and in accordance with public service standards.
“Furthermore, the Authority upholds a zero-tolerance stance on all forms of workplace misconduct, including harassment, intimidation, or abuse of office.
“FAAN’s internal mechanisms for reporting, investigation, and redress are active, confidential, and strictly enforced to protect the dignity and well-being of every staff member. Any behaviour inconsistent with the values of the Authority is thoroughly investigated and addressed in line with established disciplinary procedures,” Agbebire said in the statement.
FAAN reiterated its commitment to maintaining a work environment that rewards integrity, respects hierarchy, encourages career growth, and promotes the highest level of professionalism across all operational areas, including Aviation Security (AVSEC), Aviation Rescue and Firefighting Services (ARFFS), and other critical departments.
“Management appreciates the dedication of all staff and encourages continued cooperation, dialogue, and adherence to due process as the Authority continues its transformation into a world-class airport service provider,” the statement added.
