The Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) at the Deputy High Commission of Canada in Nigeria is set to host a high-level Canada–Nigeria Technology Partnership Forum on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Federal Palace Hotel, bringing together key stakeholders from both countries to accelerate collaboration in the digital economy.
The forum will convene technology leaders, innovators, distributors, systems integrators, and policymakers from Canada and Nigeria to explore new commercial opportunities and deepen bilateral ties in fast-growing technology sectors.
Positioned as a strategic engagement platform, the event will showcase Canada’s advanced technological capabilities while connecting Canadian firms with Nigerian partners in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, telecommunications, enterprise solutions, and smart infrastructure.
Proceedings will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration and introductions led by the Trade Commissioner, followed by formal welcome remarks at 9:00 a.m. by the Head of Office at the Deputy High Commission of Canada in Lagos.
The forum aims to strengthen cross-border innovation by facilitating partnerships that support digital transformation, business expansion, and knowledge exchange between both countries.
A keynote address scheduled for 9:10 a.m. will be delivered by Mr. Olagoke Orija, representing the Country Manager of Microsoft Nigeria. The presentation is expected to spotlight opportunities for technology-driven transformation and collaboration within Nigeria’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.
One of the central highlights of the event will be a panel discussion from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., themed “Building Stronger Tech Partnerships: Distributor, Integrator & Reseller Opportunities.”
The session will examine practical models for cooperation between Canadian and Nigerian companies, including expectations of local firms from international partners, success factors in joint ventures and co-development arrangements, and real-world examples of Canada–Nigeria technology collaboration.
Panelists include Lee-Michael J. Pronko of Canada, Dr. Isi Brennan of the United States, and Gbemi Akande of Optimus AI, Canada.
From 10:45 a.m. to noon, participants will break into sector-focused syndicate sessions featuring presentations from leading Canadian technology companies.
Firms such as Agile Agilist, Cetark, Ethica Channel Enablement Inc., Telepin, SimplyCast, and Viion Systems will showcase solutions spanning artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, telecommunications, enterprise software, Internet of Things applications, and smart infrastructure. Each presentation will outline partnership pathways and market opportunities for Nigerian stakeholders.
An interactive question-and-answer session will follow, enabling direct engagement between attendees and presenters. The programme will then transition into a wine-tasting networking session curated by Nicotawines, featuring premium selections from Canadian producers, including Tawse Winery, Macaloney Distillery, Lakeview, and Reif Estate Winery, offering participants an informal setting to build relationships and explore potential collaborations.
The forum is scheduled to conclude at 1:00 p.m. with closing remarks from the Senior Trade Commissioner, who is expected to reaffirm Canada’s commitment to fostering sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships within Nigeria’s technology ecosystem and supporting the country’s digital transformation agenda.
