NBCC, Edufirst Hold 2020 African Edu-Tech Conference

The Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) and Education First Nigeria Limited (Edufirst.ng) are set to host the 2nd edition of the African Edu-Tech Conference.

The conference is anchored by the Learning, Education and Training (LET) Group of the Chamber and Edufirst. ng.

Scheduled to hold virtually on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, with the theme “Jobs, Education and Technology: The New Normal,” the conference according to the organisers, is aimed at exploring the role of technology in the education sector and showcasing the innovation and creativity from future leaders.

DigitalTimesNG gathered that this year’s edition is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education led by the Honourable Minister, Mallam Adamu Adamu, who is the Special Guest of Honour and the Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo as Special Guest.

The conference will parade an array of educators in the private sector, secondary and tertiary institution students, and other stakeholders, and will feature interesting panel sessions, virtual networking sessions, virtual exhibitions, and student presentations.

President and Chairman of Council of NBCC, Mr Kayode Falowo stated that the conference provides a platform for the government, regulatory agencies, and education professionals to interact and share experiences on the revitalization of the education system, through the application of technology and innovation as key components of educational transformation.

Managing Director of Edufirst.ng, Mr Moses Imayi also said that since inception, the company has directly supported the education technology needs of over 50,000 students, thereby helping them access relevant digital skills and essential technology experience for global competitiveness.

Imayi added that the conference will, therefore, provide a platform for both public and private stakeholder to dialogue and enhance educational policies, engagements, and investment both in Nigeria and Africa.

Edufirst.ng, a subsidiary of Skool Media Nigeria Limited, was established to bridge technology literacy and life-long-learning skills gap in schools and homes such that learners and teachers can effortlessly attain global competitiveness.

The Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) is the foremost bilateral chamber in Nigeria with the objective of promoting trade and investment between Nigeria and Britain.
