With over 51million Nigerians already having their National Identification Number (NIN) in the kitty, several millions of Nigerians are yet to get enrolled in the scheme.

Nigeria’s telecom regulator, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) recently provided tips on how to ensure a safe NIN registration exercise.

The NCC advised that to keep a safe NIN registration exercise, applicants should endeavour to use one of the over 200 licensed Enrollment Centres and Agencies available to avoid large crowds.

It also advised that at the enrollment centre, an applicant should wear a face mask at all times, covering their nose, mouth and chin.

It further advised that applicants should obey social distancing rules while they wait in the queue and stay at least 6 feet from the next person.

Furthermore, applicants should use a hand sanitiser frequently and avoid touching their eyes, nose and mouth as they wait.
