Yudala Heights came alive with celebration, purpose, and promise on April 17, 2025, as TD Africa, the leading tech distributor in Sub-Saharan Africa, marked a major milestone: the graduation of 400 young Nigerian women from its transformative TecHERdemy program.
After six intensive months of practical, hands-on training in Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Software Development, these women emerged not only as skilled professionals but as trailblazers in an industry ready for their brilliance.
The ceremony drew some of the most respected voices in Africa’s tech space. Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of the Zinox Group, delivered a stirring keynote address, lauding the graduates for their determination and drive.
“You are the pioneers of a new, inclusive era of tech leadership on the continent,” he declared, painting a hopeful future where innovation thrives through diversity.
Mrs. Chioma Ekeh, CEO of TD Africa and the visionary behind TecHERdemy, urged the graduates to lead with character and purpose.

“Hold tightly to your values. Let integrity guide your work, let innovation fuel your dreams, and let your impact speak louder than your résumé,” she said in an emotional address that drew a standing ovation.
Throughout the day, graduates shared powerful stories of growth and transformation. Among them was Yetunde Kayode, now a certified data scientist, who reflected on her journey: “This program changed my life. I’m walking away empowered, skilled, and deeply grateful to Mrs. Ekeh and the TecHERdemy team for believing in us.”
The event also celebrated excellence, with 15 outstanding participants recognized for leadership and performance, showing that the program not only built skills but also nurtured character and community.
Launched in November 2024, TecHERdemy was born from a bold mission: to give young Nigerian women access to world-class digital skills and a pathway into meaningful tech careers. But what unfolded over six months became something far greater than a training program, it sparked a movement.
For TD Africa, this graduation is more than a ceremony. It marks the beginning of a brighter, more inclusive tech ecosystem in Africa, powered by women who are ready to lead, build, and inspire.
