Dr. Evans Woherem, Chairman of Digital Africa Group explained that the choice of AI and Africa as the theme of this year’s Digital Africa Conference & Exhibition is both timely and crucial, noting that because the world is in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, marked by intelligence, AI is therefore, at the heart of this new industrial revolution.
“AI has huge benefits for countries, organisations, and individuals, but also has the potential to cause harm. This means that countries can ignore AI only at their peril. It is for this reason that numerous countries are taking AI very seriously as seen by their budgets and regulatory measures towards its development and implementation,” he said.
Digital Africa Conference and Exhibition is unarguably Africa’s premier annual consumer technology show which provides the perfect platform for policymakers and notable ICT experts and personalities to discuss the development of Africa’s ICT sector and proffer solutions to the challenges limiting her digital growth.
Digital Africa Conference & Exhibition has been firmly established as a major platform for uniting Africa’s ICT stakeholders and decision makers for technical discussions, networking and showcasing of innovative ideas, products and services.
Previous editions of the Digital Africa Conference & Exhibition had attracted the crème de la crème of the ICT ecosystem, including innovators and exhibitors, and analysts believe this year’s edition will not be different, especially against the backdrop of such topical issue as AI being put in the front burner.
