ALX, Africa’s leading tech learning accelerator, has solidified its position as a pioneer in tech education and innovation by winning the Outstanding Leader in Technology Accelerator Award at the 2024 Women Entrepreneurs & Executives in Tech Summit (WEETS).
Adebimpe Odunlana, ALX’s Partnership Lead, accepted the award at the event held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI).
The WEETS 2024 summit kick-started with an empowering boot camp where Helen Eboagwu, Manager of Operations at ALX, delivered an insightful speech on “Balancing Work & Life.”
She emphasised the increasing challenges that modern women face in managing career ambitions alongside personal responsibilities and highlighted the need for intentional time management, mental wellness, and setting realistic boundaries in the workplace to prevent burnout.
“It is very key, that we prioritise self-care without compromising our professional growth,” she further stated.
The summit drew women from top industries, fostering an environment of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Odunlana also represented ALX during a panel discussion titled ‘AI Leadership: Navigating the Future of Women in Business,’ where she shared her insights and highlighted the evolving role of women in AI and the pivotal importance of strategic leadership in navigating the future of tech-driven business.
In her compelling remarks, she said, “There is an intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and women’s leadership, which focuses on how women can harness the power of AI to redefine the business landscapes. Indeed, AI plays a pivotal role in reshaping industries, and leaders in today’s tech space must be both strategic thinkers and innovation-driven to fully unlock AI’s potential.”
Ugochi Emmanuel, the organiser of the WEETS Summit thanked ALX for their continued support and revolutionary contributions to the tech ecosystem.
