Anambra State has once more proven that its digital transformation journey is not a one-off success but a sustained trajectory of excellence, clinching four major awards at the 13th Meeting of the National Council on Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy (NCCIDE) held in Jos, Plateau State, from December 8–12, 2025.
This marks the second time in three years that Anambra has emerged as one of the most decorated states at the Council, following a similar sweep in 2023, an achievement that underscores the state’s consistency in driving innovation, governance reforms, and inclusive digital growth.
A Platform for Shared Innovation
The NCCIDE, themed “Accelerating Inclusive Digital Transformation: Bridging Gaps and Fostering Sustainable Growth Through Innovation”, convened federal and state governments, industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to evaluate progress and chart Nigeria’s digital future.
One of the most anticipated segments, the States Innovation Peer Review Session (PRS), provided a collaborative platform for states to showcase their strides in ICT-driven governance and service delivery.
Anambra’s Winning Streak
At the close of the PRS presentations, Anambra stood out with four prestigious recognitions:

- Best Overall Performing State in ICT Development
- Best State in ICT Human Capital Development
- 2nd Runner-Up in Infrastructure Development
- 2nd Runner-Up in eGovernment Implementation
Leadership Driving Transformation
The awards reflect the bold vision of Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, whose commitment to building a liveable, prosperous, and digitally empowered Smart Mega City continues to propel Anambra into national recognition.
Strategic investments in broadband expansion, eGovernment services, digital skills, and tech-driven governance reforms have positioned the state as a model of what is possible when political will meets precise execution.
Receiving the awards on behalf of the Governor, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata (CFA), MD/CEO of the Anambra State ICT Agency, credited the Governor’s leadership and enabling environment for energizing the state’s digital drive.
“This recognition is another clear validation of Governor Soludo’s vision and a reflection of the hard work, collaboration, and commitment of the entire Solution Team.
“Anambra remains intentional about leveraging technology to improve lives, strengthen institutions, and create opportunities. We are grateful for this recognition and motivated to do even more,” CFA said.
Sustained Excellence
By repeating its 2023 feat in 2025, Anambra has demonstrated that its digital transformation is not episodic but deeply rooted in purposeful leadership, strategic planning, and a people-centred approach.
The state’s consistency in ICT development, eGovernment implementation, infrastructure growth, and human capital investment continues to set the pace for others, proving that technology-driven governance can accelerate development and foster inclusive growth.
