The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has confirmed a significant reduction in electricity supply to Lagos following a major fault on its Omotoso-Ikeja West 330-kilovolt (kV) transmission line. In a statement on Tuesday, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, disclosed that the transmission line snapped between towers 420 and 422 on March 9, leading to a loss of approximately 350 megawatts (MW) of bulk electricity supply to the state.
