Forward Edge Consulting has unveiled Cyber1000, a pioneering initiative aimed at equipping 1,000 participants with free, foundational cybersecurity training through its Bootcamp 5.0 program.

The program targets one of the most pressing challenges in Africa’s digital landscape: the shortage of structured entry points for beginners eager to pursue careers in cybersecurity.

As demand for cybersecurity professionals grows across Africa and globally, many aspiring learners struggle not from a lack of talent, but from a lack of guidance.

Early exposure to specialized tools and roles often leaves newcomers overwhelmed, prompting many to abandon their aspirations before building the critical foundations they need. Cyber1000 addresses this by focusing on core principles that underpin all areas of cybersecurity.

Cyber1000 seeks to change that narrative by grounding learners in the fundamentals: operating systems, networking, cryptography, command-line environments, and practical, hands-on experiences that build confidence and clarity.

“The challenge isn’t talent, it’s clarity,” said Moyosore Kukoyi, Founder and CEO of Forward Edge Consulting. “We’ve seen countless capable individuals step away from cybersecurity simply because they didn’t know where to start. Cyber1000 gives participants the grounding they need to understand the field before choosing a specialization.”

Cyber1000 is fully sponsored for 1,000 participants, targeting individuals with limited or no technical background, career switchers, students, and self-taught learners seeking structure and confidence in their cybersecurity journey.

Cybersecurity is no longer optional; it is essential for economic resilience, digital trust, and the protection of national infrastructure. By investing in foundational skills at scale, Cyber1000 aims to cultivate a generation of informed, confident cybersecurity professionals ready to strengthen Africa’s digital ecosystem.

Applications for Cyber1000 are now open, offering a rare opportunity for aspiring cybersecurity professionals to gain structured, practical, and fully-funded training.
