Highly rated telecommunications operator, Globacom, on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, brought celebrations from its Festival of Joy promo to its Lagos-based subscribers with another one of its 24 brand new cars being presented to a customer.

The presentation event in Lagos which took place at Gloworld on Adeola Odeku Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, saw the emergence of Vivian Nkiruka Chukwuleke, an entrepreneur as the winner of the brand-new Kia Rio car.

An overly elated Chukwuleke recalled her initial skepticism when Glo officials called to inform her that she had won a brand-new Kia car in the Festival of Joy promotion.

“I first got a call from someone who introduced herself as a Glo official and said she was calling from the venue of the draw and that I had won a car. I was scared at first, knowing that scammers could also be trying to con me.

“But when I was told to take my documents to the Gloworld nearest to me, I knew that I had actually won the car,” she said, adding that Globacom had given her a huge gift to send her as she prepares to quit spinsterhood next year.

She was among the scores of winners who received their prizes at the event. Other winners also took home such items as Generating sets, Sewing Machines and Rechargeable Fans.

Elijah Ibagbeola, a Travel Consultant, his prize of a Sewing Machine is like a need met in a miraculous way. His wife is a tailor and he had also learned tailoring before now. “I am so happy to be here and I am also happy that Globacom is rewarding subscribers in this manner,” he said.

Olubunmi Idowu Jayeola, a civil servant who works in a government hospital said the Generating Set she won was going to help her improve the business she recently started as a side hustle. She thanked Globacom for the prize.

In his case, Alli Morufu, a generator technician based in Ilasa, Lagos, who won a Rechargeable Fan, declared that he had never won anything in any promo before, a situation that had diminished his belief in the authenticity of such activities.

But once he confirmed that he won a prize in the Glo promo, that mindset dissolved.

“I have been a loyal and consistent subscriber of Globacom and it is great that I too have won something now,” he said.

From Lagos, the Festival of Joy promo train will move to other cities around the country where prizes will be presented to winners in these locations.

A total of 20 houses, 24 brand-new cars, 100 generators, 200 sewing machines, and 1,000 rechargeable fans will be given out in the promo.

New and existing Glo customers simply need to dial the dedicated short code- *611# and keep recharging (voice and data during the promo period) in order to be eligible to win the prizes on offer.
