News Highlights:

  • The new quick reply feature for Gmail on Android, allows users to streamline their email responses by replying directly from the bottom of the conversation without opening a new screen.
  • The new feature is now available for Android users, with plans to roll it out to iOS later this year, and is accessible to all Google Workspace customers, Individual subscribers, and personal Google account users.

Google is introducing a new quick reply feature for Gmail on Android devices, enabling users to streamline their email responses by bypassing several steps.

Google announced that the new quick reply experience is available starting today on Android only, according to Agency report sighted by Digital TimesNG.

Previously, Gmail provided Android users with options like Reply, Reply All, or Forward when viewing an email conversation.

After selecting an option, users were taken to a full-screen compose view to draft their response.

With the new quick reply feature, users can respond to emails directly from the bottom of the conversation, without needing to open a new screen.

This feature is ideal for brief replies, but for more detailed responses, users can expand the text box to access additional formatting options.

Google has announced that the new quick reply feature is currently available only on Android devices, but the company has confirmed that iOS users will receive it later this year.

To start using the quick reply feature, open an email, click on the text box at the bottom, type your reply, and then tap the send icon.

If you need to compose a more formal response, you can switch to the full-screen compose view by tapping the “Expand to full screen” icon.
