LG Donates Essential Products, Healthcare Items To FMC, Abuja

LG said this initiative aims to support the hospital’s ongoing efforts to provide quality healthcare services to the community, especially during these challenging times.

LG Electronics, a leading consumer electronics company, has announced its recent donation of essential products and health items to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abuja.

LG said this initiative aims to support the hospital’s ongoing efforts to provide quality healthcare services to the community, especially during these challenging times.

Recognising the critical role that FMC Abuja plays in delivering healthcare services to the public, LG Electronics has taken the initiative to contribute to its mission.

The donation includes a wide range of essential products and health items that will directly benefit the hospital’s patients and medical staff.

In his welcome address, Mr. D.Y Kim, Managing Director, LG Electronics West African Operations, expressed the motivation behind the donation and the commitment to supporting the hospital.

“We are honoured to support Federal Medical Centre Abuja through this donation. As a responsible corporate citizen, we understand the significance of providing essential products and health items to healthcare institutions, especially during these challenging times.

“Our commitment to the community extends beyond our business operations, and we are proud to contribute to the well-being of patients and medical staff at FMC Abuja.

“LG has been involved in several CSR activities across the geopolitical zones in the country. We have demonstrated this through a variety of charitable activities, campaigns and donations, which are always our response where help is needed the most,” he said.

The newly introduced Dualcool air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators, mosquito nets, and baby care kits are among the donated items.

These items are crucial in ensuring patients and healthcare professionals’ safety and well-being, particularly in the face of the ongoing global health crisis.

“By supporting the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja, we aim to positively impact the healthcare sector and contribute to the overall well-being of the community.”

“Healthcare institutions are institutions that concern all of us as citizens, so their condition should be everyone’s concern and an opportunity for help.

“As an important business entity in this country, we remain committed to the welfare of citizens and the improvement of everyday life,” he added.

Speaking further, he said: “We believe that the air conditioning units as well as the other items we are donating today will improve the service delivery in the hospital and provide an enabling environment for the medical personnel.”

Receiving the items on behalf of the management of Federal Medical Centre Abuja, the Medical Director, Prof. Saad Aliyu Ahmed, commended LG Electronics for the kind gesture.

“As a public health institution, we are indeed proud to be the recipients of these distinctively designed air conditioners and mosquito nets.

“All this goes in favour of faster and more efficient work by the whole staff and better conditions for patients.

“This donation from LG Electronics is an example of active care by the business sector for the community and public institutions, and the benefit that the patients are going to experience is the true value of the donation.”

Speaking further, he called on other corporate organisations and public-spirited individuals to emulate LG in responding to the needs of health institutions.

He affirmed that there are many organisations that are in dire need of support and noted that by donating these innovative electronic products, LG Electronics, through this event, has shown itself to be a brand that truly believes in the health sector.

Mr. Mostapha Krais, Abuja Branch Manager, Fouani Nigeria Limited, expressed his sincere gratitude to Federal Medical Centre Abuja for its unwavering commitment to providing quality healthcare services to the community.

“We are confident that our donation will have a positive impact on the hospital’s ability to deliver exceptional care to those in need,” he said.

Corroborating the firm stand of LG Electronics brand offerings, Mostapha said, “LG constantly develops products from the feedback of its esteemed consumers across the world and does not junk the markets with products that won’t benefit the consumers but rather makes products that support the good life many desire to live and to see them through stages of life expectancy.
