… Anfeyin Olokuta Residents Now Enjoy Clean Water, Free Laundry, And Device Repairs

LG Electronics, a global leader in consumer technology and corporate social responsibility, has commissioned a solar-powered borehole and free mobile laundry station for the Anfeyin Oja Olokuta community in Ilorin under its Life’s Good Initiative.

This marks the 16th borehole donated by LG across Nigeria, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to clean water, health, and community development.

The new facility will provide reliable, year-round access to safe water for thousands of residents, while the free mobile laundry station available for three months will promote hygiene and ease domestic burdens for families.

LG also deployed a service team to offer complimentary maintenance for LG gadgets, extending its impact beyond water access to broader community well-being.

“Access to clean water is a right, not a privilege,” said Mr. Paul Mba, Head of Corporate Marketing, LG Electronics Nigeria. “Our Life’s Good Initiative is about dignity, health, and hope. We’re proud to stand with Anfeyin Olokuta in building a healthier future.”

Speaking as the representative of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq was Hon. Abdullah Bata, the Honourable  Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Kwara State.

“This is in no small measure a laudable donation to our dear community Anfeyin Elekoyangan, and the people are grateful for this. The Governor appreciates LG Electronics for this support and hopes to see more of this partnership and support to LG’s business in Kwara State.”

“Water is life and any organization that supports initiatives like this surely places the life of the people on a high pedestal, and the people will, in turn, show appreciation for the kind gesture. We hope other private organizations will also support LG Electronics to make life good!” he added.

“Clean water and sanitation are the foundation of healthy, thriving communities. We thank LG Electronics for their vision and their willingness to invest in our people.”

“This borehole and the additional support will transform daily life for our residents. Clean water and improved hygiene will mean healthier children, less time spent fetching water, and new economic opportunities. We hope other organizations are inspired to follow LG’s example,” he added.

Also at the event was the Chairman, Garuba Lukmon Agbelere, Chairman, Ilorin East Local Government, who expressed heartfelt appreciation: “LG’s generosity gives us more than water and services, it gives us pride and a sense of belonging.

“This partnership brings real change to our community, and we are grateful for the continued support.”

With over 60 million Nigerians still lacking access to basic clean water, efforts like LG’s Life’s Good Initiative are critical for achieving national development goals.

By powering boreholes with solar energy, LG ensures sustainability, even in off-grid areas, and sets a new standard for corporate social responsibility in Nigeria.

The addition of free laundry services and gadget maintenance reflects a holistic approach to well-being, one that goes beyond necessity to deliver dignity and comfort.

In addition to addressing water scarcity, LG’s Life’s Good Initiative promotes broader well-being in line with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being. Free laundry services and electronics servicing help reduce the spread of waterborne diseases, support daily hygiene, and lighten the everyday burdens on vulnerable families.

Through these efforts, LG Electronics is demonstrating how businesses can lead with purpose, building stronger, healthier communities and advancing progress toward a more equitable world where everyone has a fair shot at a better life.

LG Electronics will continue to work closely with local authorities and community leaders to expand these initiatives, striving for a future where every Nigerian community enjoys the right to clean water, sanitation, and a better quality of life.
