Matawalle Praises Military For Neutralizing Bandit Leaders

…Vows Unrelenting Support in Northwest Security Drive

News Highlights:

  • Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, reaffirmed the Federal Government’s unwavering dedication to combating banditry and achieving lasting peace in the North-West region.
  • Dr. Matawalle oversaw the official handover of 10 operational vehicles, including 8 Buffalo trucks and 2 Toyota Hilux, donated by the Sokoto State Government.

The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, His Excellency Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, has reiterated the Federal Government’s steadfast dedication to combating banditry and achieving lasting peace in the North-West region.

While attending security engagements in Sokoto State on Friday, October 11, 2024, Dr. Matawalle observed the transfer of important military assets and received operational updates on recent achievements in the battle against insurgency.

At the Sokoto State Government House, the Honourable Minister oversaw the official handover of 10 operational vehicles to the military, which included 8 Buffalo trucks and 2 Toyota Hilux, generously donated by the Sokoto State Government.

Commending the state for its ongoing support, Dr. Matawalle stated, “The security of our nation requires a collective effort at all levels. The Sokoto State Government has consistently shown its commitment to this cause. These vehicles will significantly enhance the operational capacity of our forces throughout the region.”

He added that the new fleet would improve the mobility and effectiveness of troops in responding to security threats.

After the handover, the Minister received a detailed operational briefing from the Air Component of Joint Operation Hadarin Daji.

Dr. Matawalle praised the precision and effectiveness of recent air and ground operations that resulted in the neutralization of several prominent bandit leaders. “Your accomplishments reflect your professionalism and commitment,” he stated.

“The Federal Government will continue to provide the necessary support to maintain these successes. We will not rest until peace is fully restored in the North-West.”
