News Highlights:

  • Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, strongly condemned former Minister of Transport, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, for making statements that incite violence and unrest.
  • Matawalle issued a stern warning, urging Amaechi to stop making inflammatory remarks that threaten national peace and stability.

The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, has strongly condemned recent statements by Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, accusing him of inciting violence and unrest among Nigerians.

Dr. Matawalle issued a firm warning to the former Minister of Transport, urging him to refrain from making inflammatory comments that could jeopardize the nation’s peace and stability.

Additionally, the Minister voiced serious concern about the risks associated with such rhetoric, saying, “It is both reckless and irresponsible for a former public servant of Amaechi’s stature to incite Nigerians against their own government,” Dr. Matawalle stated.

“At a time when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working diligently to tackle the nation’s challenges through reforms that are already showing progress, it is absurd, preposterous, and shameful for anyone to exploit the genuine struggles of our citizens for selfish political gain.”

The Minister further emphasized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to protecting the peace and security of all Nigerians, warning that any attempts to destabilize the country through incitement will not be tolerated.

“We will not permit anyone to incite violence or exploit the current circumstances of our people. Let this be a final warning to Amaechi and his associates,” Dr. Matawalle declared firmly.

Matawalle urged Amaechi not to cast doubt on the government’s genuine intentions for the people, and noted that he is expected to work alongside the government to advance the country, but instead, he has chosen to remain on the side-lines with short-sighted claims.
