Subscribers of MTN Nigeria in parts of Enugu and Benue States have been grappling with a major service disruption that has left them disconnected from voice and data services since Saturday, September 6, 2025.

The outage, traced to a fibre cut affecting the company’s backbone infrastructure, has sparked outrage among customers who flooded social media with complaints over their inability to make calls or browse the internet.

MTN, in a message to affected users, acknowledged the disruption: “Dear Customer, we’re experiencing network challenges in some parts of Benue and Enugu States due to fibre cut, and our services may be temporarily unavailable as a result.

“Our engineers are working to restore services as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”

The telecommunications company further assured subscribers that its technical team is working round the clock to resolve the issue and restore connectivity fully.
