The push for a more coordinated and collaborative approach to Nigeria’s digital future took centre stage as the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) convened technology leaders, policymakers, and innovators at the Principal IT Stakeholders Forum 2025 in Abuja.
With the theme of deepened partnership underscoring every discussion, both organisations reiterated that Nigeria’s digital transformation can only be achieved through collective effort and strategic alignment across the technology ecosystem.
Speaking at the forum, the Director-General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa, represented by Dr. Aristotle Onumo, Director of Stakeholders Management and Partnerships, emphasised that building a digitally powered Nigeria is a shared responsibility that demands collaboration at all levels.
“Collaboration is the key,” Inuwa asserted, stressing that partnerships remain central to realising a digitally empowered nation.
He further outlined the core focus areas of NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0) 2024–2027, which include advancing digital literacy and talent development, strengthening the technology research ecosystem, and enhancing cybersecurity and digital trust. Inuwa called on stakeholders to join NITDA’s ongoing digital literacy initiatives to ensure that growth in Nigeria’s digital economy remains inclusive and sustainable.

Organised in partnership with the NCS Abuja Chapter, the forum provided a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas and develop strategies for building a unified technology ecosystem capable of accelerating national development.
Chairman of the NCS Abuja Chapter, John Odumesi, highlighted that the event was conceived to promote constructive engagement and co-creation among stakeholders.
“The forum was designed for stakeholders to co-create and discuss constructively for a better Nigeria,” Odumesi explained, adding that synergy is essential for accelerating innovation and achieving national development goals.
Delivering the keynote address, Mrs. Ibukun Odusote, Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society and former Federal Permanent Secretary, commended NITDA for championing the initiative at a crucial time in Nigeria’s digital evolution.
Speaking on the theme, “Aligning Perspectives, Building Synergies: Forging a Unified IT Ecosystem for National Growth,” she provided a historical overview of the nation’s IT journey and underscored the need for cooperation among key players.
“Progress in the IT space cannot be achieved in silos,” Odusote remarked. “We must complement one another rather than compete if we are to realise our national aspirations.”
The forum concluded with a shared commitment among participants from government, academia, and the private sector to strengthen collaboration, align strategies, and collectively drive Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda forward.
