TD Africa has reaffirmed the strength of its corporate governance framework and internal control systems following the successful prosecution and conviction of a former employee involved in the theft of company assets.

The organisation stated that integrity—both in mindset and operational processes, remains a non-negotiable pillar of its corporate culture, underpinning a strict zero-tolerance stance against fraud, theft, and all forms of misconduct.

According to the company, the former staff member, Mr. Friday Udoh, was last week convicted by a Lagos State Magistrate Court for stealing company-owned laptops from TD Africa’s warehouse facility.

The case arose after an internal investigation, triggered by CCTV footage that captured the unauthorised removal of company property, led to a formal report to law enforcement authorities.

In its judgment, the court ordered Mr. Udoh to pay ₦2,000,000 (Two Million Naira) in restitution to TD Africa or, in the alternative, serve a six-month custodial sentence.

TD Africa noted that the case was managed transparently and strictly in accordance with due process, with full cooperation extended to the Nigerian Police and the judicial system.

The company added that the outcome reinforces its resolve to safeguard corporate assets and uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct across all levels of its operations.

Speaking on the development, Chris Eze-Ozims, Group Legal Adviser at TD Africa, stated: “TD Africa operates a strict governance framework anchored on integrity, accountability, and compliance with the law.

“In this matter, the company followed due process by conducting an internal review and cooperating fully with law enforcement authorities.

“This outcome reinforces our zero-tolerance stance on fraud and our responsibility to protect the interests of our partners, customers, and stakeholders.

“All employees are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards, comply with company policies, and act responsibly always.”

The company maintains that safeguarding assets entrusted to it by partners, OEMs, and customers is a critical responsibility that cannot be compromised.

TD Africa continues to encourage its workforce and stakeholders to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious or unethical behaviour through established internal channels.

The organisation remains committed to maintaining a secure, professional, and trusted work environment built on transparency and integrity.
