  • The training addresses the most sought-after skills in the African technology market.
  • The programme highlights TD Africa’s commitment to bridging Africa’s skills gap.

In its ongoing effort to close the growing skills gap in Africa’s technology sector, TD Africa, the continent’s largest technology distribution company, has partnered with Cisco to launch a month-long inaugural training programme.

The programme, a pioneering initiative in the TD Academy training series, aimed to equip young minds with technical skills and professional experience.

The initiative, named “Introduction to Cisco Networking Solutions and Workplace Professional Skills,” showcases TD Africa’s holistic and forward-thinking approach to technology education and professional development, enabling individuals and businesses to excel in the digital era.

This groundbreaking training series aims to equip participants with foundational knowledge of Cisco networking solutions, essential for building and managing robust IT infrastructure, while also emphasizing the importance of soft skills in today’s dynamic work environment.

This combined emphasis on technical competence and professional development aligns with TD Africa’s strong commitment to equipping young people with the necessary skills.

For the inaugural phase of TD Academy, Cisco’s extensive portfolio includes carefully curated programmes in cybersecurity, data analysis, and artificial intelligence (AI), targeting the most in-demand skills in the African technology market.

For Mrs. Chioma Ekeh, CEO of TD Africa, the company’s dedication to bridging the skills gap is not a one-off training programme nor limited to knowledge transfer.

“Collaborative projects enhanced my teamwork skills and made learning enjoyable. I left the TD Academy with a wealth of knowledge and a renewed enthusiasm for my career.”

Impressed by the exceptional talent emerging from the programme, Africa’s number one tech distribution company immediately recruited some of the top graduates who participated in the training programme.

This commitment to recognizing and nurturing talent further strengthens the technology ecosystem in Africa, creating a pipeline of skilled professionals for the future.
