iElevator, Liftinstituut Open Application For Training On Lift, Elevator Technology

International Lift & Elevator Co. Nig Ltd, a Nigerian company, in partnership with Liftinstituut, an Amsterdam Netherlands-based specialised training institute, has opened applications for interested Nigerians willing to learn Lift and Elevator technology.

The companies said in a joint statement that the Application will close on April 10, 2024.

The training programme which will be held in Amsterdam Netherlands is scheduled to target Lift Engineers and would-be Engineers in Lift and Elevator installation and will be for 15 participants only.

The duration of the training is 7 days.

The cost of the one-week training is N6,000,000 (six million naira) only which includes Visa procurement, air ticket, feeding and accommodation costs.

The full five-day (Monday-Friday) training will be held for a maximum of the first 15 registered participants. Training will be provided by very experienced trainers and will be held at the facilities of Liftinstituut in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

ELEVATOR 7 LIFT

Training will consist of three different parts:

The *Theoretical part* will be presented “classroom-wise” using a PowerPoint slides presentation with the following topics: Elevator technology, types of elevators, elevator and operation of components; Risks and dangers, surrounding the elevator; Safe way of working (on and) around an elevator; Electric safety chain, contacts and features; EN 81-1/2 codes; EN 81-20/50 codes; and Checklist.

The *Practical part* will be presented on-site with several existing elevator installations with the following topics: Secure access to machine room, shaft pit, and car top; Riding the elevator control inspection and jog control; Practice codes; Testing inspections; Using checklist in practice; Aiming for bringing into practice what participants learned during the theoretical part.

The *Concluding part* consists of: After the training, participants will receive a handout, which contains the topics, that have been discussed during the training; During this finalizing part of the training, participants will also get a theoretical and practical test in order to be able to check whether they have understood the content of the training and master it. If so, they will receive a so-called Certificate of Participation with a validity of two years.

The company also shares its knowledge by offering training courses and guidance services, organising safety campaigns, guidance on the creation of inspection regimes and participating in standards commissions.
