News Highlights:

  • Governor Soludo flagged off the construction of a 35-kilometre access road to the Second Niger Bridge, enhancing connectivity between Anambra and Delta States.
  • The project aligns with Soludo’s vision of integrating smart technology into infrastructure to improve road efficiency and public service delivery.

The Managing Director and CEO of the Anambra State ICT Agency, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata (CFA), has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing infrastructure development, citing the launch of the construction of the access road to the Second Niger Bridge, which connects Delta and Anambra States.

The 35-kilometre road project was officially flagged-off Tuesday by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, who represented the President.

Highlighting the project’s importance, Agbata noted that, beyond improving connectivity, the access road aligns with Governor Soludo’s broader vision of enhancing road efficiency and integrating smart technology into infrastructure development.

“The construction of this critical access road will not only facilitate seamless movement between Anambra and Delta but also consolidate ongoing efforts by Governor Soludo to build a digitally driven economy where technology enhances governance and public service delivery,” he noted.

Agbata further highlighted the need to incorporate smart infrastructure solutions into major road projects, ensuring that they align with modern urban planning and technological advancements.

“With digital integration, we can deploy traffic management systems, smart surveillance, and other ICT-driven solutions to optimize road usage and safety.

“This is in line with the Anambra State Government’s push for a tech-enabled future,” he added.

Governor Soludo, in his remarks, acknowledged the project as a major step in boosting commerce, trade, and ease of movement, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to leveraging technology for sustainable infrastructure development.

The completion of the access road is expected to ease congestion, enhance economic activities, and further solidify Anambra’s position as a forward-thinking, tech-enabled state.
