News Highlights:

  • Peter Obi has launched an online registration portal and ID cards for Obidient Movement members in Nigeria and the diaspora.
  • The new ID cards feature a QR code for verification and display the flag of each member’s country of residence.

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Mr. Peter Obi, has launched an online registration portal and introduced identity cards for members of the Obidient Movement, both within Nigeria and across the diaspora.

This development was announced in a joint statement issued on Saturday by the movement’s National Coordinator, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, and the Director of Strategic Communications and Media, Nana Kazaure.

According to the statement, each identity card will include a QR code for authentication and feature the flag of the holder’s country of residence.

The statement explained:

“The Obidient registration portal is designed to support Nigerians and fellow Obidients living abroad. Each ID card bears the flag of the country where the member resides. For instance, if a member is based outside Nigeria, the top right-hand corner of their ID card will display their country’s flag.

“This initiative celebrates our spirit of diversity, camaraderie, and unity, highlighting the global reach of the Obidient Movement. Each card, whether issued in Nigeria or abroad, will begin with the prefix ‘OBX’.

“The QR code located at the bottom right-hand corner of the card ensures security and authenticity. Members and supporters can easily verify identities by scanning the QR code with a smartphone or other QR scanner.

“This offers a secure and reliable way for Obidients to connect, collaborate, and engage in business or support activities confidently.”
