Many Nigerian businesses are not losing customers because their products are inferior, but because potential clients simply cannot find them easily. In a digital economy where visibility determines viability, fragmented contact details and inconsistent online presence are quietly costing small and medium-scale enterprises thousands of opportunities every year.

To address this challenge, NativeID is introducing a free digital identity platform that brings a business’s scattered contact information—phone numbers, social media handles, websites, and location details—into a single verified page.

By creating a single trusted digital profile, the platform makes businesses easier to find while protecting them from the growing threat of social media impersonation and online scammers.

For decades, the complimentary card has served as the traditional symbol of credibility for Nigerian professionals and entrepreneurs. However, in an age where paper cards are easily misplaced and contact details change frequently, relying solely on physical cards is increasingly impractical.

The platform arrives at a critical time for the Nigerian digital economy, where fragmented identities across Instagram, WhatsApp, and Google Business Profiles have created a “trust gap” that scammers increasingly exploit.

By providing a structured, one-scan identity layer, NativeID aims to bridge this gap, ensuring that speed and clarity, not confusion, shape the customer’s final decision.

The Identity Crisis: Why Scammers Win

For the average entrepreneur, “visibility” has become a double-edged sword. As businesses expand across platforms, their contact information often becomes a mess of outdated phone numbers and broken links.

Esther Ukachi, Product Manager at NativeID, notes that this fragmentation is the primary entry point for fraud. “Imagine a customer trying to reach a business,” Ukachi told Scalepoint Africa.

“They find one phone number on Instagram, another on a flyer, and an old address on their Google Business Profile. Sometimes they even find many social media accounts with the same name, making it difficult to tell which one is the real page and not one created by scammers.”

She further emphasized that this isn’t a marketing issue. “The problem is not even demand, product quality, or visibility; it is access to the right business identity,” she explained. “Across Nigeria and beyond, many businesses still share their identity in pieces across chats and bios. As teams expand, this creates confusion, delays, and lost trust.”

One Link, Instant Verification

NativeID addresses this by moving businesses away from “scattered details” toward a structured architecture. The platform offers a suite of tools designed for instant access and verification:

  • One Shareable Link: A single URL that replaces the cluttered “link in bio”.
  • QR Code Integration: An instant scan that opens the full identity page.
  • Direct Action Buttons: Integrated shortcuts for calls, emails, and website visits.
  • Centralized Locations: The ability to list multiple physical branches on one digital profile.

Building the Identity Layer

NativeID is positioning itself as more than just a contact list; it is a foundational identity layer for modern professionals. In a market where a single bad experience can lead to a “scam” label on social media, having a verified, structured home for business data is no longer an accessory; it is a security requirement.

For users, the shift is important. What was once spread across multiple platforms and hard to verify is now consolidated and easy to trust. The platform is currently free for both individuals and companies across all markets.
