The Anambra State Government is working to expand public access to road infrastructure information through DocTracker, a digital project and document management system developed by the state’s ICT Agency for the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.
The platform is undergoing further review ahead of its official launch, with the Anambra State ICT Agency and the Ministry of Works exploring improvements to make information on road projects more accessible to citizens.
At a review meeting held at the Ministry on 12 October 2026, the Commissioner for Works, Arc. Okey Ezeobi emphasised the need to make DocTracker more public-facing, enabling residents to monitor projects from contract award through construction and completion, as well as track maintenance requirements where necessary.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State ICT Agency, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, assured the commissioner that the recommendations would be considered and addressed ahead of the platform’s official launch.
DocTracker features two major components: Document Management and Project and Contractor Management.
The document management component is designed to track official documents throughout their lifecycle, while the project and contractor management component supports the monitoring of infrastructure projects, contractors, field activities, project sites and implementation progress.
The system is expected to strengthen project oversight within the Ministry while providing a clearer picture of the status of road infrastructure projects. Its proposed public-facing features would also promote transparency by enabling citizens to follow project developments and sustain attention on infrastructure maintenance after construction is completed.
The ongoing review has benefited from practical feedback from the Ministry’s team, led by Ezeobi, which is helping the ICT Agency’s technical team identify areas for improvement before deployment.
The engagement also included further training for engineers in the Ministry to equip them with the skills required to operate DocTracker effectively once it becomes operational.
The development forms part of broader efforts by the Anambra State Government to improve digital collaboration, strengthen public-sector efficiency and enhance citizens’ access to government information.
In a related development, the state’s Ministry of Information and Value Reformation has engaged the ICT Agency on the deployment and use of SolutionLens, the government’s citizen-engagement platform, as part of efforts to strengthen digital communication and public feedback mechanisms.
The engagement followed a working visit by the Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation and his team to the ICT Agency on 8 October 2026, during which SolutionLens was presented and reviewed.
Discussions focused on the platform’s operational use, with information officers receiving hands-on training and guidance on onboarding through official government email addresses. The team also received a walkthrough of the redesigned Anambra State Government website.
The session aimed to strengthen the Ministry’s capacity to use SolutionLens to engage citizens, receive feedback, and improve access to official government information.
While DocTracker focuses on infrastructure project monitoring and document management, SolutionLens provides a channel for citizen engagement and feedback. Together, the platforms reflect the state’s efforts to use digital tools to improve government operations, enhance transparency and bring public services closer to residents.
