Nigeria’s telecoms regulator, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has introduced new guidelines for National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment for foreigners residing in Nigeria. The NCC said in a public notice today that all persons in Nigeria, including foreigners who use mobile networks, are required to register their SIM cards and link them with the NIN database. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) have introduced a new fee for customers using the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) services. Effective Tuesday, March 16, 2021, USSD services for financial transactions conducted at Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) and all CBN – licensed institutions will be charged at a flat fee of N6.98k per transaction.
