Canal+ has announced the acquisition of rights to the Saudi Pro League for the French territory and Africa, for the next two seasons, reports BroadbandTvNews.
The Saudi Pro League has tempted several international players, many from French clubs, to bolster its ranks.
The Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema and World Cup champion N’Golo Kanté have joined the reigning champion club Al-Ittihad.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who arrived last December at Al Nassr, will now play alongside Seko Fofana and Sadio Mané.
Senegalese player Kalidou Koulibaly, Serbian player Sergej Milinkovic, and Portuguese player Ruben Neves have all strengthened Al Hilal.
“We are thrilled to offer this brand-new football championship exclusively to CANAL+ subscribers.
“The Saudi Pro League brings together a roster of prestigious players whom we will be able to see every week on our channels and in our shows like the Canal Football Club.
“We look forward to following the biggest international stars: Ballon d’Or winners Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo, World Cup champion N’Golo Kanté, and Sadio Mané in this rapidly developing league.”
Digital TimesNG can authoritatively report that Canal+ will broadcast two matches per week exclusively on its channels in France, when the championship begins on Friday 11 August.
