Globacom, a national telecommunications operator, has explained that the desire to offer subscribers premium television content for viewers of all ages informed its decision to launch Glo TV, a first-of-its-kind mobile television app on Android, IOS and web.

Globacom’s Head of Web Sales, Ugochukwu Ibe, said the app is designed for watching live linear TV, Video on Demand and catch-up content which will cater to the preferences of Nigerians across different socio-economic groups and offer them an exclusive opportunity to experience best-in-class TV content.

“This exciting product is designed to ensure that access to television programming graduates from computer and television to include mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers and is available on the go and in real-time. It can be considered as part of our 18th-anniversary delight to our over 50 million subscribers,” he explained.

Ibe assured subscribers of a delightful experience on Glo TV service, adding, “We are aware that fast and reliable internet is required to enjoy mobile TV contents. If the internet is slow, it takes more time to load the video contents and this can be annoying to users. With Globacom’s 4G data powered by Glo 1, subscribers are assured a pleasant streaming experience.”

Globacom, he noted, is a network that is constantly re-inventing itself with innovative yet affordable products and services, promising that it will not rest on its laurels.

“We will continue to enhance the quality of service and data speed, as well as expand network capacity in order to accommodate the new additions to our subscriber base on account of GloTV and other numerous products and services recently added to our fecund stable.

“To guarantee a thrilling experience on GloTV, we are partnering with numerous content providers to ensure that we constantly offer content that will appeal to all categories of subscribers across social demographics,” Ibe noted.

He explained that the app is for customers on its pre-paid and post-paid platforms who own compliant android and iPhone devices and will be required to visit myglotv.com to register and download the Glo TV app free of charge until September 30th, 2021.

He added that  Glo TV will offer the best premium all-around entertainment, news and sports content and is set to become Nigeria’s one-stop entertainment destination to positively alter the television landscape in the country as it will beam highly sought-after television content to millions of subscribers via their handheld devices.

“Glo TV brings engaging, interactive and premium entertainment content through a rich bouquet of offerings including hundreds of live entertainment programmes, music, documentaries, news, original shows, fashion, lifestyle, kiddies’ interest channels and over 1,000 videos as the company continues to partner with content providers to address the needs of more customers across varying social strata,” the Globacom official stated.

He stated that users of Glo TV will find the app interesting as it offers a wide variety of choices from entertainment to news, information to sports, education to cartoons, assuring that there will never be a dull moment on the app no matter the user’s subject of interest.
