In its efforts at promoting Digital Literacy and Skills of young schoolgirls in the country, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is organising a maiden edition of the Nigeria Girls Can Code (NGCC) Competition in line with the catch-them-young global initiative.

The NCC said in a public notice post on its Facebook page on Friday, that the NGCC aims to engage girls in secondary schools across the country to debate innovative ways to address the challenges of food security through the application of fifth-generation (5G) technology.

“This is in line with the Federal Government’s policy initiative – Nigeria Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (2020-2030), whose second pillar underscores the importance of Promotion of Digital Literacy and Skills among Nigerians.,” the Commission said in the public notice.

The event is scheduled to take place at the NCC Head Office’s Conference Hall, Maitama, Abuja on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, by 10 am.
