NCC Reaffirms Support For WATRA

The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Aminu Maida, on Friday (January 12, 2024), assured the West African Telecommunications Regulators Assembly (WATRA) of the Commission’s continued support in fulfilling its strategic role in shaping the regulation of the telecoms sector in the sub-region.

Maida gave the assurance at the NCC head office in Abuja while playing host to the Executive Secretary of the West Africa Telecommunications Regulators Assembly (WATRA), Engr. Aliyu Aboki, who visited him.

The WATRA Executive Secretary, Engr. Aliyu Aboki officially congratulated the EVC on his appointment and used the opportunity provided by the visit to highlight some key achievements of his tenure so far.

He listed some of the achievements to include the development of an updated strategic plan for the Assembly including digital collaboration between member states, as well as the re-introduction of Guinea Bissau, Gambia and Niger into WATRA, among others.
