News Highlights:
- QNET condemns brand misuse and fraud
- Pledges stronger collaboration with EFCC to prevent further abuse
Following recent concerns emerging from the arrest of several suspects in Niger State and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, QNET, a global leader in direct selling with a focus on wellness and lifestyle products, strongly distances itself from any illegal activities carried out by unauthorized individuals or groups misusing its name to mislead, exploit and defraud members of the Nigerian public.
Digital TimesNG reports that QNET appreciates the efforts of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in apprehending those involved and is actively cooperating with the authorities to prevent further abuse of its brand.
QNET Denounces Brand Misuse and Criminal Misrepresentation
A reputable international direct selling company with 27 years of global experience, offering a wide range of wellness and lifestyle products through a network of independent distributors, explained that these distributors are customers who have purchased QNET products and voluntarily chosen to build a direct selling business using its platform. They operate independently and are not employees of QNET.
“Regrettably, certain third-party entities—such as Mighty Infinity Millionaire Ltd.—have misrepresented themselves as being affiliated with QNET. These entities have no official relationship with QNET and operate entirely outside our oversight. Their actions and conduct do not reflect QNET’s business model, ethics, or values in any way,” QNET said in a statement.
The company categorically disassociates itself from such individuals and organizations and emphasizes that it neither endorses nor recognizes them. “We wish to reaffirm that Transblue Nigeria Limited is QNET’s only authorized partner in Nigeria,” it said.
QNET Committed to Legal and Ethical Operations in Nigeria
According to the statement, “QNET operates in Nigeria strictly within the bounds of the law and in full compliance with regulatory standards, through our official local partner, Transblue Nigeria Limited. We are deeply committed to upholding ethical business practices and safeguarding both our brand and the public from fraud and exploitation.
“We encourage the public to stay vigilant, verify the legitimacy of anyone claiming affiliation with QNET, and promptly report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.”
QNET Regional Leadership and Legal Partner in Nigeria React
In response to recent fraudulent activities carried out under the false pretence of association with QNET, Biram Fall, Regional General Manager for QNET Sub-Saharan Africa, expressed deep concern: “We are extremely disturbed by the way unscrupulous individuals have misused the QNET brand to deceive innocent Nigerians with false promises.
“At QNET, our values are rooted in honesty and empowering people to build better lives through genuine means. We remain committed to supporting law enforcement agencies in their efforts to bring these fraudsters to justice and encourage the public to verify any claims of affiliation with QNET before getting involved.”
To avoid further confusion, QNET made it clear that it does not operate, endorse, or have any affiliation with any physical or online university bearing the name “Q-University” in Nigeria, noting that while QNET is part of a larger business group that owns Quest International University in Malaysia, the institution does not maintain any overseas campuses.
Additionally, QNET emphasized that it is not involved in any form of online medical courses or academic institutions within Nigeria, and firmly rejected any association with recruitment-driven schemes that promise employment, scholarships, or guaranteed financial returns outside the legitimate sale or purchase of its wellness and lifestyle products.
Furthermore, QNET strongly condemned the unauthorized use of its intellectual property, including company logos, images of its founders, and promotional materials, by fraudulent actors seeking to deceive the public but reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the integrity of its brand and supporting authorities in addressing these issues.
QNET’s Awareness Creation and Consumer Protection Efforts
Since entering the Nigerian market in 2022, QNET with the support of its local partner, Transblue Nigeria Limited, have prioritized financial literacy and consumer protection.
In November 2023, QNET launched the Say NO! Awareness Campaign to educate the public about scams and promote responsible entrepreneurship. The campaign has reached thousands through multilingual billboards, radio messages, educational pamphlets, and online platforms.
As part of this campaign, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment (FMLE) and the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) were also engaged.
QNET expressed its full support and appreciation for the efforts of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in combating cyber and financial crimes across Nigeria, and affirmed its active collaboration with the Commission as investigations continue into fraudulent activities being carried out by individuals misrepresenting themselves as QNET affiliates.
While commending the EFCC for its commitment to upholding justice and protecting citizens from exploitation, QNET further reiterated its dedication to transparency and ethical business conduct, emphasizing its plans to increase public education efforts regarding the company’s legitimate operations, core values, and how to identify authorized representatives.
QNET Public Advisory On How To Stay Safe
Meanwhile, as part of ongoing efforts to protect the public from scams falsely linked to its brand, QNET has issued a public advisory urging Nigerians to remain vigilant and informed.
The company encourages individuals to verify any QNET-related information directly through its official website at www.qnet.net. Suspicious activities or individuals claiming false affiliation with the brand should be reported immediately via email at network.integrity@qnet.net or through WhatsApp at +233 256 630 005.
QNET also recommends the public visit www.saynocampaign.org to learn how to recognize and avoid fraudulent schemes.
Reaffirming its commitment to ethical business practices and transparency, QNET emphasized its continued cooperation with Nigerian authorities to hold accountable those misusing its name and misleading the public.
“QNET remains fully committed to ethical business practices and transparency. We stand with Nigerian authorities in protecting citizens from fraud and will continue to cooperate fully to bring those misusing our brand to justice,” QNET assured.
