Zenith Bank Plc has disclosed that it is investigating an incident involving unauthorised access to limited customer information, including email addresses and phone numbers, following what it described as part of a wider global cyber-attack affecting multiple international organisations across different sectors.

In a public notice issued to customers, the bank said it immediately activated its incident response protocols and implemented cybersecurity measures and remediation efforts upon detecting the breach.

According to the bank, the incident has not affected its banking services or digital platforms, which it said remain secure and fully operational.

“Upon discovery, we promptly activated our incident response protocols, cybersecurity actions and remediation efforts,” the bank stated.

Zenith Bank reassured customers that it remains committed to protecting their information and urged them to be alert to potential phishing attempts arising from the incident.

The bank advised customers to be wary of suspicious emails, text messages, or phone calls requesting confidential banking information, stressing that passwords, Personal Identification Numbers (PINs), One-Time Passwords (OTPs), and other security credentials should never be shared with anyone.

The lender also reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding customer data and expressed appreciation for the continued trust and confidence of its customers as investigations continue.

Customers seeking further information or assistance have been advised to contact Zenith Direct through the bank’s designated customer support channels.
