The West African Youth Council has honoured Olusegun Enitan Dada, founder of OED Foundation and Chief Executive Officer of IT Horizons, Zojapay, and ZojaTech, with the prestigious Nelson Mandela Leadership Award for Excellence.
The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s technology sector and his unwavering commitment to community development through impactful corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The recognition comes in acknowledgment of his passion for advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goals 1 (No Poverty), 2 (Zero Hunger), 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), 4 (Quality Education), and 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
Through the OED Foundation and IT Horizons, Dada has spearheaded multiple community-focused projects aimed at improving the lives of underprivileged Nigerians.
His initiatives include free medical outreaches in underserved communities, distribution of school materials to less privileged children, and clothing drives for vulnerable groups.
One notable example is the Free Medical Outreach in Magboro Community, Ogun State, organized in partnership with ShepherdHill Healthcare Initiative.
The outreach provided over 200 residents with vital healthcare services, including screenings, consultations, and free medications, as well as health education on preventive care and nutrition.
Speaking about the initiative, Dada expressed IT Horizons’ deep sense of responsibility to society.
“At IT Horizons, we understand that sustainable development starts with healthy communities. Through these outreaches, we are not only giving back; we are building stronger, healthier foundations for the future,” he said.
This and other interventions, such as donations of essential safety kits to schools across Lagos, highlight his commitment to using technology, innovation, and philanthropy to create meaningful impact.
Presenting the award, representatives of the West African Youth Council praised Dada as a visionary leader whose work embodies the values of Nelson Mandela.
“This honour recognizes individuals who distinguish themselves in leadership, service, and impact. Mr. Dada’s achievements in Nigeria’s technology space and his consistent contributions to community well-being make him an exemplary role model,” the Council stated.
